Package Description
- Does the concept of creating an artificial intelligence life form intrigue you?
- Do you have the basic concepts about artificial intelligence?
- Are you seeking more information?
- Can online courses actually help you?
Artificial intelligence is the hottest topic in the scientific world and recently numerous developments have taken place in this field. Scientists are now in a position to actually touch the limitation of artificial intelligence as computers are now becoming more efficient. This class will provide you with an introduction to fundamental concepts associated with statistical pattern recognition and machine learning. Specific topics covered in this class include reinforcement learning and adaptive control, bioinformatics, autonomous navigation, speech recognition and parametric/non-parametric learning. Although there are not any specific prerequisites for this robotics online course, you should have general computer science knowledge and skills, the ability to write computer programs and a basic understanding of the basics of probability theory and linear algebra. You don’t have to be tech savvy to actually apply for this course as it has been designed in such a way that even people with little or no knowledge can understand the fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence.
The topics that will be discussed in this course include:
- Supervised learning generative/discriminative learning
- Parametric/non-parametric learning
- Neural networks
- Support vector machines
- Unsupervised learning (clustering, dimensionality reduction, kernel methods)
- Learning theory (bias/variance tradeoffs; VC theory; large margins)
- Reinforcement learning and adaptive control
- Robotic control
- Data mining
- Autonomous navigation
- Bioinformatics
- Speech recognition
- Text and web data processing
The prerequisites include:
- Computer science principles and skills
- Basic probability theory
- Basic linear algebra
