Frank Levinson is the founder of Finisar Corporation. He has been on the board of directors since 1988 and the Chief Technical Officer since 1999. He was the Chief Executive Officer from 1988 to 1999.  Previously, he was associated with AT&T Bell Laboratories and Bellcore. Frank holds an M.S Degree and PhD form the University of Virginia in Astronomy.
