Package Description
Also known as a career fair or a career expo, a job fair is the ideal opportunity to facilitate the meeting of job seekers with prospective employers who are looking to hire. Job fairs are arranged by everybody from independent, private organizations to universities, and these fairs basically throw prospective employers and job hunters together, for the benefit of both.
Given the economic conditions and lack of jobs in current times, job fairs are popular affairs which draw huge crowds – however, this does not mean that you can organize a mediocre fair and still expect people to turn up. The key to organizing a successful job fair is planning; once everything is set up, you can sit back to let those in attendance do their work – the job hunters can proceed to look for jobs, while those looking to hire anew or fill vacancies can scout for qualified candidates who fulfil their criteria.
The planning phase for a job fair is elaborate and prolonged, and requires extreme attention to detail. In addition to the more obvious tasks like arranging a venue, contacting companies and employers, and making sure job hunters know about the fair, it is also essential to make sure you bring the right sorts of people together at the fair. At its worst, a job fair can be a shoddily organized, completely pointless event, where no one is able to find what they are looking for.
Having organized a string of successful job fairs, I know what it takes to make an event like this successful, and ensure that everybody gets what they came for – even if everyone present does not find the job or employee they are after, they should at least be able to get some leads to build on. In order to help interested parties in the process of planning a job fair, I am putting up a guide for sale, which will walk you through the entire process from beginning to end, and ensure that your job fair is a resounding success.
