Package Description
?Have you ever thought how all of the living organisms on Earth are related to each other?
Evolution is the gradual change in the inherited characteristics of living organisms over successive generations. The process of evolution gives rise to diversity at every level of biological organization, molecules such as DNA and proteins to individual organisms and groups of species. Scientists believe that all life on Earth today has descended from a single universal ancestor that existed about 3.8 billion years ago. Charles Darwin was the first ever scientist to formulate a scientific argument for the theory of evolution through natural selection.
If you want to study theory of evolution in detail, the take this free online course titled, “Evolution: A Course for Educators”. This course will not only explore the history of evolution theory and the evidence that supports it, but will also explain how understanding the process of evolution contributes to our well-being. The participants will also explore evolutionary science and learn about population genetics, evolutionary relationships, and natural and artificial selection.
Who should take this course?
This course has been primarily designed for teachers, but graduates planning to pursue a higher degree in evolutionary science can also benefit from it.
What will you learn from this course?
In this course you will study patterns of human evolution and its societal implications. You will also get to know how scientists relate living organisms and extinct species. There are no prerequisites for this course; all educators who are teaching biology and related subjects are welcome to enroll in this course.
