Ginger beer is "the sparkling alcoholic beverage low on sugar and ginger”. It was prepared in England on those hot summer days as a refreshing drink with 10 to 20 percent solution of sugar. During Prohibition in the United States they served different types of ginger beverages saturated with carbonic acid which then they called Ginger Ale or Ginger Beer. These drinks were not allowed to contain more than 0.5 percent of alcohol. The only similarity of ginger beverage with the real beer is in the process of fermentation, which is actually caused by a bacteria culture that is added to the drink.
