I am the CEO and founder of Expert Media Training and Lisa Elia Public Relations. I have prepared clients for interviews that I have secured with major media outlets, such as The Oprah Winfrey Show, Time Magazine, USA Today, CNN, Redbook, In Style and hundreds of others. I've positioned clients for book deals, endorsement deals, positions as contributing editors to magazines and even their own TV shows. I'm grateful that I found the field of public relations during college: I earned my bachelor’s degree in communication with a public relations focus from the University of Delaware. I started my first firm when I was only 27 and have happily been self-employed for most of the time since then. When I moved to LA in 1996, I knew I'd found my true home. I've found amazing friends, an inspiring community of like-minded people and abundant opportunities here. Plus, there's the weather! A great experience in my life was the 3 years my family and I spent living in Geneva, Switzerland when I was a child. My class pictures looked like a mini UN picture, with kids from all over the world. My family and I also traveled throughout Europe while we were there, so I got to see a lot of amazing historical and inspiring places in Italy, France, Switzerland, Malta, and the UK. I believe that this fueled my interest in all different kinds of people. I love that my job is to help people clarify and spread the messages they are here to deliver and to let people know about great products that I feel good about representing.
