Package Description
Did you know that more than 30% of the budget you set out for your wedding will be spent on arranging for food at the ceremony? That’s a lot of money, which you could probably spend on other aspects of the event, or save altogether for other expenses like a honeymoon. As the costs involved in arranging a wedding rise steadily, more and more couples are looking to cut down on how much they spend on the food they serve to their guests, and one of the best ways to do this is by taking the DIY route and self-catering your own wedding!
While this might seem like a good option if the prospect of spending too much or treating your guests to cheap, budget catering doesn’t appeal to you, do not think of it as an easy way out. Self-catering your own wedding is a task of epic proportions, and taking on this added responsibility, in addition to organizing all the other aspects of the event, can cause many to crack from the tremendous strain and pressure.
When I sat down to plan my wedding with my then-fiancé, I flat-out refused to pay exorbitant per head charges to a catering company, and insisted that I wanted to self-cater my own wedding. Predictably, everyone thought it was a crazy idea – trying to arrange food for hundreds of guests while juggling all the other tasks involved in wedding planning? It didn’t seem do-able.
However, I was determined to prove naysayers wrong, and in the end I managed to save a great deal of money by successfully self-catering my own wedding! I won’t lie – it was an astonishingly difficult task, but I found that with the right amount of discipline, organization, resourcefulness, and a bunch of clever techniques, I was able to pull it off successfully. Since then, I have gone on to help a number of cousins and friends self-cater their weddings, to great effect.
For other couples who are looking to save but still want to have a wonderful wedding, I’ve put together a guide which contains everything I have learnt from valuable experience on how to self-cater your own wedding. Upon purchasing the guide, you can gain access to useful tips on how to plan a menu, how to organize the entire affair and manage costs, how to buy ingredients, and then pull off the actual cooking and serving process. In addition, I also include a number of tried and tested shortcuts to help you in the process.
