Do the concepts involving robots intrigue you? Are you attracted to the whole concept of robots and their programming? Do you want to learn how robots work? Are you interested in taking a course in programming with robots?

Robots have been the part of popular culture for almost a century now and the whole concept is mind blowing. Humans have been fascinated by the concept of creating metallic beings stronger and capable of achieving almost the impossible. 

This CIS online course will teach you the fundamentals of computer programming and how they relate to the creation and operation of robotic technology. The course was published in Fall 2007 for both undergraduates and graduates and, as such, has no postsecondary degree or credit hour requirements. However, you will need a Windows-based PC and a Lego Mindstorm kit to participate alongside Dulat and Madar as they conduct their robotics lesson.

This open-source process is actually all about sharing and improving on each other's efforts. It is expected that by making this course a part of OCW, others will be able to use and build upon this material. The whole idea is to make it useful for learners and instructors all over the world.

In order to take this course the things that you will require are:

- A home PC (Windows based)
- Speakers
- Lego Mindstorm kit

This course is designed to make things easier for students to understand. The easier the things get the more comfortably students will be able to put their learning into practice.

This course will be taught by Margaret Dulat B.Sc., M.Math (Waterloo), Jason Madar B.Sc, M.Sc. (UBC). Both instructors are considered specialists in their field with considerable experience in teaching and robot programming. Both are well known for problem solving and teaching their students in the simplest possible way for better understanding.
